Handicap Room Description

The Roosevelt Inn has one handicap room* available, a Deluxe 2 Double, Ground floor.  (If you do not see the handicap room available in our inventory when you book online, please make a note in the reservation. If we get a cancellation, we will move you to the room,)

Our handicap room has an accessible parking spot in front of the room.  There is a ramp leading up to the room.  The doorway and bathroom entrance are wide for wheelchair access. 

​

Inside the room are two full-size beds, normal height (not too high like some mattresses can be) on solid 4-sided hotel bed frames.  There is a nightstand between the beds, electrical outlets on the outer side of each bed, and also on the lamps above the nightstand. There are a round dining table and two chairs with enough room and height for a wheelchair.  The room also has a vanity counter with a sink outside the bathroom.  A mini-fridge is in the room.

The bathroom has a wall-hung sink and an ADA height toilet with a handrail.  Sorry, there is a tub and not a walk-in shower.  The tub has a portable chair w/o back that is ADA approved plus there are wall rails inside the tub to make access easier.  (Please be aware the room has not been remodeled since it was built in 1985 except for cosmetic updates.  We have removed barriers where ever possible but size of the bathroom can be tight for a wheelchair.)

Contactless check-in and checkout are available to make the process easier for all.  All reservations are emailed a confirmation that provides instructions for contactless check-in.  The Roosevelt Inn provides a complimentary continental breakfast for take out or sit in.  We have provided a Keurig-style coffee maker with k-cups in each room for our guests' convenience. There are a couple of areas which may be difficult for a guest w/ wheel-chair to maneuver, i.e. the coffee shop (breakfast area) and front desk.  We have tried to minimize the hassle with the contactless check-in and out.  Breakfast (which are assorted breakfast breads and cereal) can be pre-stocked in the room's refrigerator upon request.

Also available for use in any room, please request in advance:

  • (2) kits designed specifically for hotels and motels with ADA requirements as they relate to accommodating hard of hearing guests without need of a TTY.

  • (1) Toilet seat riser with arms

  • (2) Non-ADA tub seats (one with seat back)

  • (1) Bed rail
