Handicap/ Accessibility (room photos coming)
The Roosevelt Inn has one handicap room available, a Deluxe 2 Double, Ground floor. There is a van accessible parking spot in front of the room. There is a ramp leading up to the room. The doorway and bathroom entrance are wide for wheelchair access.
Inside the room are two full-size beds, normal height (not too high like some mattresses can be) on solid 4-sided hotel bed frames. There is a nightstand between the beds, outlets on either side, and on lamps above beds. There is a round dining table with two chairs and enough room and height for a wheelchair. The room also has a vanity counter with a sink outside the bathroom that a wheelchair can slide under. A mini-fridge is also in the room.
The bathroom has a wall-hung sink and an ADA height toilet with a handrail. Sorry, there is a tub and not a walk-in shower. The tub has a portable chair w/o back that is ADA approved (available upon request) plus there are wall rails and a new showerhead with a handle to make access easier. The room has not been remodeled since it was built in 1985 except for cosmetic updates. Therefore, some of the turnarounds in the bathroom can be tight for a wheelchair.
Remote check-in and checkout are available to make the process easier for all. During the pandemic, the Roosevelt Inn is not providing breakfast. However, there is a Keurig-style coffee maker in each room. Once the pandemic ends, breakfast will resume in the coffee shop breakfast room. The breakfast room entrance has a portable ramp that can be installed if we're aware you are coming.
