Since it's settlement in the 1700's, Hyde Park has long been the rest stop between New York City and points further north, east, and west due to the town's ideal location in the middle of the Hudson River Valley. Visitors would stop at the town's lodging establishments and water their horses, grab some grub and get some rest before the next day's journey. Even though times have changed, the town's ideal location for visitors has not. Today visitors may tour our town's historic sites, eat at local restaurants or the Culinary Institute of America and explore the Valley's many offerings.
Our property, the Roosevelt Inn, is a mid-century motel located in the historic district of Hyde Park's village. The motel began existence as the Colonial Motel in the 1950's and was owned by three different families before our family purchased it in 1971. Initially constructed at a time when you paid twenty-five cents for a gallon of gas and the Internet was nonexistent, this bit of Americana was obtained by our family and has been updated throughout with an eye to retain its original charm. Today the Roosevelt Inn includes free WiFi, flat screen TVs with 100s of channels, hair dryers, and mini-refrigerators in every room.
As an independent business, we work hard to compete and provide a quality product for our customer. Furnishings, technology, facility maintenance, promotion, marketing all have to keep pace with today's expectations yet still be economically viable. Each year we close for the months of January and February. We utilize our down time to review the past year's performance and plan our next year's goals-- updating and/or maintaining our facility, reviewing products and supplies. We at the Roosevelt Inn make an effort to seek local products and labor whenever possible so all our dollars and yours stay in the community.
Come stay with us and see for yourself why our prices, location, and accommodations are so popular.
