Our property, the Roosevelt Inn, is a mid-century motel located in the historic district of Hyde Park's village. The motel began its existence as the Colonial Motel in the 1950s and was owned by three different families before our family purchased it in 1971.  Initially constructed at a time when you paid twenty-five cents for a gallon of gas and the Internet was nonexistent, this bit of Americana was obtained by our family and has been updated throughout with an eye to retaining its original charm. Today the Roosevelt Inn includes free WiFi, flat-screen TVs with 100s of channels, hairdryers, and mini-refrigerators in every room.

As an independent business, we work hard to compete and provide a quality product for our customers. Furnishings, technology, facility maintenance, promotion, and marketing all have to keep pace with today's expectations yet still be economically viable. While we have not substantially changed or remodeled the property, we have made renovations and minor changes over the years thru updates in furnishing, equipment, and linens to make each room more eye-pleasing and comfortable.  Each year we close for the months of January and February.  We utilize our downtime to review the past year's performance and plan our next year's goals-- updating and/or maintaining our facility, and reviewing products and supplies. We at the Roosevelt Inn make an effort to seek local products and labor whenever possible so all our dollars and yours stay in the community.
