in the neighborhood

While you're staying at the Roosevelt Inn, enjoy Hyde Park’s splendid historic sites, outdoor summer concerts, antique shops, drive-in movie theater, restaurants and the Culinary Institute.  Located along U.S. Route 9 (also called Albany Post Road), Hyde Park lies between Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck and is nearby to local area colleges (Marist, Vassar, Dutchess Community, and Bard Colleges), the Dutchess County fairgrounds, the region's world-class hiking, fall color, and river cruises on the Hudson River.

Attractions

There is plenty to see in town for the young or old, and, as a midway point on the Hudson River, Hyde Park is only 1.5 hour from New York City or Albany -- close enough to visit all the sites in between!

OUTDOOR

SHOPPING

Hyde Park is a small town with limited stores.  We do have many antique stores but only a couple of gift stores.  If shopping is your pastime, you will need to drive north or south 15 minutes to find boutiques or malls.

DINING

There are plenty of eateries to enjoy while you are here in town that are easy on the wallet.  Within a 1/2 mile to 2 miles of The Roosevelt Inn, there are a few restaurants, a bunch of casual eateries like the popular Eveready Diner, as well as McDonalds, Subway and Dunkin Donuts.

In addition to the world-famous Culinary Institute of America and its four public restaurants located three miles away, you don't have to go far to find more places to eat.  There are fine dining restaurants within a 15 minute drive or less
.  Please inquire at check-in if you would like assistance in selecting a place to eat.

==>>  Also, make your reservations to dine at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) before you arrive. (Closed Sunday & Monday)  Here is a link
